Dendarii Free Mercenary Fleet
homage of a concept by
Lois McMaster Bujold with only slight modifications to fit our continuity
The Dendarii Free Mercenary Fleet may be named after the small planet Dendarii which belonged to Lord Danar Vorpadaran — I think it still does, but right now it glows in the dark from repeated nuclear bombardment — or possibly from New Dendarii, a backwater gas-mining station on a hyperspace dead end that got converted into a Rebel/Pirate/Survivor base during The Long Night.
Whatever the origin, they are a corporation registered out of Tallaan System, the first stop for inbound traffic on the Giju Passage. Back when the Giju Passage was navigable.
So, actually, were they registered (maybe under a different name) before the Long Night? Or did they pick that home system because the Dendarii Free Mercenaries seem to be united by fifty liters of loony in a five liter bag?

Star Wars: Shards is a work of pure, unabashed fiction. In fact, it considers itself rather heroic, noble, and quite proud of itself.
The opinions expressed on the in-world pages or within quotation boxes are those of the characters and should not be confused with either of the authors, since the characters and authors tend to disagree a lot. But … This is the Way.
Names of characters, places, events, organizations and locations are all creations of the authors' imaginations for this fictitious setting, except where credit is given to the sources of inspiration. Any resemblance to persons living, dead, or reanimated is coincidental.

Having found this while looking for data on the actual group... I chuckled, because of course another reality has to have the Dendarii in it. And Miles. ("Fifty liters of loony in a five liter bag" about sums it up nicely on the manic days. actually....)
Delighted to share! Along with our regularly scheduled series rereads, I fact-checked myself a lot via https://vorkosigan.fandom.com/wiki/Vorkosigan_Wiki and dendarii.com ... which I ought to linkify up above as direct credits. I thought I'd got 'em everywhere! I will go through these pages in July and re-check my attributions.
