Dorellia is a chilly, geologically active world in the Dorellia System of Mecetti Province in the Tapani Sector.

Dorellia has a Type I atmosphere: Breathable for most species. A type I atmosphere has a proper mixture of oxygen, nitrogen and other gases so that humans and most near-human species can breathe it unassisted. These atmospheres may have contaminants that over the long term have a detrimental effect. Note: the Type I category only applies at Dorellian elevations 1500 meters or more above sea level and below 3500 meters. Most ski chalets are located in the middle to upper portions of this range, but cross country ski enthusiasts should pack extra breathing equipment and emergency locators in case of small eruptions.
The axis of the planet is offset approximately thirty degrees to the orbital plane, causing strong seasonal variation throughout the local year. Temperatures average between -20 and -4 degrees Celsius. Most cool planets do not support a huge number of life forms, but life can still adapt to planetary conditions. Plant life may be common if it contains compounds that prevent vital water-based fluids from freezing. Detailed precautions should be taken by humans and many near-human species.
The sentient population of Dorellia was counted in the census of Tapani Year 12720 as 60 thousand.
The planet is approximately seventy percent covered in land. The planet has a small ocean, two inland seas and several large lakes, moderate polar ice caps, snowcaps most of the year except when a volcanic eruption has occurred within the past standard month, but mostly it has a great deal of geologic activity creating small hills (under a kilometer tall) to huge peaks several kilometers tall.
The primary starport on Dorellia, which is located near the crescent-shaped lake country on the eastern hemisphere, is Imperial Class. It is a modern and luxurious port, with complete storage and maintenance facilities and a large number of landing fields and docks. A complete menu of services and luxuries are available for the properly vetted ship and its crew. Important merchants have offices at the starport. The shipyards are capable of rapid repairs and modifications. The former Imperial Customs office, now a Mecetti Province Customs office, is well staffed.
