A younger contemporary - and rival - of the legendary Alys Vorpatril, Marigold has recently risen through the ranks to become Countess of House Vorponderance. When she is not in the Council of Counts or performing other duties as necessary to see to the needs of House Vorponderance, or their parent house of House VorCalipsa, Marigold is often working hard at social functions.
As a rival of Lady Vorpatril, Marigold finds herself in the midst of an ongoing 'social war' with her counterpart. Admittedly, both have the best interest of the Tapani Imperium and the whole of Tapani Sector in mind. They each have opposed viewpoints as to how individual plans should be enacted.
Currently, she is warring against Lady Vorpatril for what they both see as a major triumph - matchmaking, and eventual successful marriage of Danar Vorpadaran to an eligible Tapani lady.
Countess Vorponderance is an accomplished swordswoman, which has only fed fuel to the rumors that she may be the mysterious undefeated saber rake and bounty hunter known only as "Lady Dark".
