Tarvina

The innermost planet of the Vamana System, is a rocky and near airless world called Tarvina. Most remarkable about the world is its dull green sand that comprises the bulk of its planet wide desert ranges.

Geography

Tarvina is the smallest planet in the system, only having an equatorial radius of 2329 kilometers. It is small enough that planetary scientists believe might be a rogue moon from another system that was captured by primary star of the Vamana system eons past.   The planet is 'near-airless' but does possess a rudimentary atmosphere comprised of mainly of hydrogen, helium, sodium and potassium. This unusual mix originates from a series of shield volcanoes that run almost parallel along the equatorial region.   Most distinctive is the ever present green sand that comprises much of the planet's surface. Copper rich, it would be a prime candidate for mining if was not for Tarvina's close proximity to Vamana's primary star. Temperatures on the world reach 500 degrees Kelvin ( 440 degrees Fahrenheit ) which is outside the tolerance of all but specially made mining equipment.   In addition, the copper and iron rich sand are part of a planetary-wide, heavy magnetic field that flows like an atmosphere around the world. At certain times of the year, this field has been recorded to spawn magnetic tornadoes or even hurricanes with sandstorms in their wake that can last weeks.   Despite the heat and the sand, there is water on the world, in underground sludge and ice flows that also move in accordance with the planetary magnetic 'atmosphere'.

Fauna & Flora

There has been no flora or fauna discovered on this world.

Natural Resources

The natural resources are primarily mineral, starting with the rich iron and copper sand. But the hostile environment makes even robotic or remote mining problematic.
