Droids

Droids are, without dispute, one of the most fundamental technologies in the known galaxy. They come in a variety of sizes and shapes and are created for either specific tasks or a wide variety of tasks. Those particular jobs assigned to a droid are often ones too complicated or too dangerous for organic begins to tackle.   They are often programmed to excel at one or two types of skills, which means they sacrifice the versatility of skills taken for granted by organics across charted space. Because of their advanced logic circuits, most droids lack the intuition and creative leaps that organics tend to make in unusual situations. Though rumor has it that some droids that go without regular memory wipes, yet still maintain a regular upgrade of components begin to develop such creative intuition leaps over time.   Droids come in many sizes, shapes and forms from humanoid, to the utilitarian of the astromech, or even to the utterly foreign as with a probe droid.   It has been rumored that since the Clone Wars, where the Confederacy of Independent Systems utilized droid armies for war, there has been a hidden droid rebellion or movement to free droids from their unending servitude.
