D5-K7

D5-K7 is one of many 'upcycled' droids found across the known galaxy. This model currently works as a common labor droid whose recent experience is at operating a cargo lifter exo-frame. A bulk of his experience comes from working at Port St. Pardoux in the city of Calais on Mechis II.

Personal history

D5 may be a labor droid but he didn't begin life this way.
Originally, D5-K7 began its digital life as a IG-100 MagnaGuard bodyguard droid from Holowan Mechanicals during the Clone Wars. D5 provided loyal service as bodyguard to diplomatic groups working for the Confederacy of Independent Systems.
Once the war came to an abrupt end with the death of the Confederacy leadership, D5 was one of the many MagnaGuard droids that survived the war but lacked both owners and purpose. He was collected along with his fellow MagnaGuards for re-purposing, or more commonly - recycling.
Instead of being broken down for household appliance parts, the cargo transport D5 was on attacked by Blood Wind Raiders. D5 - along with the rest of the cargo - was carried off and then sold to a Toydarian junk dealer on Mechis III. He was then later purchased by the Port Authority of Calais and coded with new skills and a new designation.
Yet, his memory was not wiped and neither was his original skill matrix.
D5 isn't unhappy about his lot in life as a labor droid. He remembers the time as a bodyguard. While he understands that the Confederacy was not the most just of organizations to work for, he still holds some pride for having doing as good a job as he could.
Still, there are times he looks up at the stars in the night sky ... and remembers travelling among them.
