The Myth of Lake Lucuri
In the middle of a desert lies a small lake, teeming with life. Vibrant fish and tall palm trees surround it, and an entire town has been set up around its borders. It is known as Lake Lucuri, and it is said to have healing properties, should one step inside.
How did this lake come to be? There seems to be no definitive answer, but the most popular myth surrounding it is that a woman by the name of Lucuri blessed the lake into existence with her magic.
Who is Lucuri? Well, some time after sealing away the four elemental lords, the god Zoris produced two daughters, by the names of Talyx and Lucuri. Talyx was a wicked foe, known to possess others and cause mischief. Lucuri, on the other hand, was kind and caring, and would protect those who needed protecting, especially from her sister.
While Lucuri had many talents, she was best known for her ability to heal the hurt and sick, and would travel the world, helping those in need. She became quite popular among the common folk, and hated by those who wished to do harm.
At the end of her life, spent from a life of hero work, and seeking to protect her powers from evildoers, legend says she walked into a lake, infusing it with her healing properties. The lake was named after her, and it is said that this very lake can still heal the injured and ill, much as Lucuri did when she was alive.
Some say her spirit remains alive and well in that lake, and that it is still possible to communicate with her. Is this true? It's hard to say. Many have tried to speak with her, but none have heard her voice. This doesn't mean that she's not there, however. It could just mean that she hasn't yet found someone with which she wishes to commune.
