This article contains important information about the world of Starsong!

To come home and find a sprig of fear mint nailed to your door would fill all but the strongest heart with dread. But to find windroot in its place? That is a sign that the Stars are happy, good luck is in your future...

History

Origins and Beliefs

Flower Messages are a fundamental part of Strionan culture. They are used to anonymously convey sentiments of hope and fear, to declare love or hate, and to show others that they are being thought of. They are often used at weddings, funerals and other important ceremonies to speak that words that cannot (or will not) be spoken aloud.

Dialects

The exact meaning of a flower can vary between different regions, although it usually carries the same generic meaning. However, in some cases, the meanings can be very different and can cause others to take offence or misinterpret the message.

Uses

Offerings to the Stars

Most Strions leave messages for their Star Orion, they believe it brings them good fortune, and protects them from the ever changing weather of their planet. These messages are often left out in the open away from the towns and cities. As well as being used for worship, they believe these messages help to ward off the evil Ghosts that live in the mists.
