The Circle of the Marked

Founders of the Rubefià Empire, and holders of the strongest Marks in written history, the Niarshepà̃js Knights were originally founded to protect their hometown from the waves of monsters attacking it. As their skill and responsibilities grew, the group grew larger until one of their members was to take on the mantle of ruling the land they had reclaimed.
Little is known of the members and their histories, not helped by the fact their exploits have become the subject of many folktales and bedtime stories.

To protect their lands, and later to reclaim the continent from the monsters.
