Storb

A storb is any magical object (or being) that can store significantly more items (or space) than it would normally hold. These space-compressing objects can be produced artificially or occur more naturally across Cier. Their name is a portmanteau of "storage" and "orb" - named such since the first ones were created using magician's crystal balls.

Mechanics & Inner Workings

Storbs come in a variety of qualities and types. Some work off of space-compression, where shrunk down items are still physically located within the storb. Others use teleportation- in these types, items are kept remotely in a protected vault and are "streamed" to users' storbs on demand.
Storbs are very good at storing one "type" of thing that can stack, such as gold coins or arrows. More sophisticated storbs that can handle multiple object types are harder to enchant, and often require dozens of sacrificial copies (of the desired storage item) to setup the storb properly. The most sought after storbs can hold a wide variety of objects, but only in single capacity (like a handyman's toolbox). For example, a lucky bride may be gifted a Clothing Storb for her to carry her entire wardrobe no matter where she went.
