The Great Plains War

The Great Plains War began sometime during Relience of the year 4872. Originally spawning out of a debate on where exactly the center of the Seam of the World was, this territorial dispute seemed to be more of a pretense for Digrain and Numaria to engage in the conflict that both of their leader's sought.   The Incarnate of War II was eager to prove he was every bit his father's worth successor, and Porseria was determined to show the world she had inherited none of her father's tragic vanities. Porseria's legions, lead by her fearsome generals commonly referred to as her "Harpies", proved to be more then a match for Digrain's rigid military, mostly lead by old-blooded Dragonborn families.   Within 20 years Digrain had lost all of its territory to the south of the Rimespan Mountains, though the teeth of the range would be what blunted Porseria's momentum. Although Digrain did not begin to win the war, much of Porseria's forces were directed elsewhere. The goblinoids that compose her empire settled the formerly elven lands, and dedicated army groups began the slow and arduous process of eliminating the elven fortresses scattered throughout the mountains.   However it is within these mountain passes and snowy ridges where some of The Incarnate of War I's legacy can be seen. Althoguh fortress are falling, slowly and more each year, the Digrain military has been successful at preventing Ochama, The leader of Porseria's northern army group and traitor to Digrain, from capturing a pass fully into the heartland. By leaving strategic traps and reentrances, the elves have always been successful at preventing the Numarians from bring their force of numbers to bear.   Ochama knows that until she can fully secure passage from Numaria through the Rimespan Mountains and itno the heart of Digrain, and gains she does make would quickly be washed away.   With progress against Digrain seeming to slow, Porseria launched another offensive against Numaria's neighbor to the west, the dessert empire of Chean. It was in 4904 that the war against Chean slowed. It is difficult to understand from a strategic perspective, why Poerseria would open as second front, as the Digrainian heartland contains regions that are much more resource rich and the Rhok'delar are comparitivly fierce fighters.   Her progress and commitment to fighting Chean is comparatively light, as she had committed only a quarter of the troops dedicated to the Digrainian conflict, and has made little inroads in occupy captured territory. In fact Porseria has even allowed the Sentinals of Arashain to remain within the Pillars of Creation, occupying little of the territory she conquered.   That is not to say that Chean is a bloodless conflict, as the dessert has swallowed thousands of ill-prepared goblin and hobgoblins legions, and the Rhok'delar of the Dune Sea are barely half of the number they started the conflict with. Porseria recenctly appointed a new Harpy, a young orcish women named Barak'dor to lead her invastion of Chean. Barak'dor and the large reinforcing army group she brought has seen the more Rhok'delar dead in the last two years then two decades of peace in the dessert. However both nations retains large armed forces not committed to the fray, the vast majority of Cheans forces occupying Mount Taniyan and much of Porsaria's lurk in the shadow cast by the Rimespan.
