Lord General

Requirements

To qualify for the position of Lord General, an individual must hold the rank of General or Admiral within the Imperial Military.

Appointment

Promotion to the rank of Lord General is a significant honor granted by the Emperor. When the Emperor wishes to select a new Lord General, a written letter is sent to the chosen candidate offering the position. While acceptance of the offer is optional, no candidate have yet to turn it down. Upon accepting the offer, the Lord General-to-be meets with the Emperor on Polympus, where an Imperial Decree is signed by the Emperor, officially declaring the new Lord General a member of the nobility and appointing them as the Chief of the Imperial Defence Council and chief military adviser to the Crown.

Duties

The primary duty of the Lord General is to serve as the chief military adviser to the Emperor and the Chief of the Imperial Defense Council (IDC). In this dual capacity, they provide crucial advice and guidance to the Emperor on all matters related to defense, military strategy, and the armed forces of the empire, while also leading the IDC. The Lord General plays a pivotal role in shaping the empire's military policies, ensuring the safety and security of the dominion, and overseeing the unified efforts of both the Army and Navy within the IDC.

Benefits

With the promotion to Lord General follows entry into the nobility. the Lord part of the rank is to be taken quite literal, even after retirement. Furthermore as the top dog of the imperial military, with easy access to the Emperor, the holder has quite substantial political power.   Promotion to the rank of Lord General comes with the honor of entering the nobility of the empire. The "Lord" title is to be taken quite literally, and this noble status is retained even after retirement. The Lord General holds significant political power, with easy access to the Emperor and a substantial say in military and defense matters. This position grants the Lord General great influence within the imperial hierarchy.

Grounds for Removal/Dismissal

The Emperor can at any time, at will, dismiss a Lord General, by selecting a new one. but they will retain their position within the nobility.   Though If it can be proven that someone is intentionally misleading the emperor, it will lead to instant dismissal from the position. depending on what grounds the misleading occurred there might follow a sentence of grand treason, with death or life imprisonment to follow. under those circumstances the former Lord General, will no-longer maintain the benefits of remaining a part of the nobility.
