Centuria Navali

The crew of any ship of any size in the naval forces of the Estinos Imperium is considered a century and is commanded by a centurion with the assistance of an Optio. A unique feature of the Estinian Classae is that the ship is commanded by a trierarchus. The century is commanded by the centurion. In practice, this means the trierarchus makes the tactical decisions for the ship, and the centurion, with the assistance of the optio determine how to act on those tactical decisions and issue the century the orders necessary to do so.
