Esomimba
Government
Esomimba is ruled directly by the Inkosi. He has a vast bureaucracy in place to oversee the day-to-day affairs, but from the perspective of the crown, the government (and settlement) exists solely for the purpose of providing a ceremonial and political seat for the Inkosi.
Defences
The city is surrounded by a heavy and tall wall. It is fourty feet in height and fully ten feet thick. The Imperial district is surrounded by a similar wall. Both walls feature ballista towers in their gatehouses, and archer's towers every fifty feet around their perimeter. The outer wall is surrounded by a twenty-foot rampart topped by a timber paliside, and a fifteen foot trench lies just outside of that at the foot of the rampart. Passage through this outer defense is only possible via narrow causeways, which can be used to create choke points in the event of attack. All buildings, even the poorest, feature stone shingled roofs, to protect from attack from above.
Infrastructure
Esomimba employs sanitation workers to gather waste, whether that be garbage or other forms of waste, and haul them out of town to the waste pits. There is no organized system of sewers or drains. Typically the wealthier one is, the higher ground upon which they build their home or business. Localized street flooding can be a problem.
