Temple of Set
Set within the hill of Tel Haatpu, this temple was once dedicated to Set. Because of its significance, it was the site from which Set was banished from Corvalis in 4616 AF. Due to this dualistic history, it bears inscriptions and paintings from 3644, when it was built, along with superimposed heiroglyphs from immediately after Set's banishment in 4616.
The site is undisturbed because it is heavily protected by curses and traps. None who have entered have returned, in all the thousands of years of its existence.
Purpose / Function
This was originally constructed as a Temple for the fearful worship of Suwtix (Set). The rituals involved in the original worship of Suwtix were aimed at appeasement, with the end in mind of preventing the entity's wrath. Later, it became common practice to invoke Set (as the entity was known by then) to bring his power to bear in grasps for power and influence. Eventually, it was from here that an avatar of Set was physically invoked in Corvalis, which was the basis for his banishment.
