Yeosang often looks slim to a point he almost looks weak compared to some of the members of the crew. When utilising his strength the truth is revealed and his muscular form shows. He has a soft face with almost feminine features.

Personal history
Yeosang lived many years under the water before he was chosen to ascend to the surface and start a life there. No one really knows where he came from when asked but they all seem to accept he had always been there. The same can be said when asked about his parents, there is no recollection of them but people do not seemed bothered by this. The land mass that Yeosangmade his home on was Entrana where he spent his youth with other children, playing and learning where he could, despite his already extensive knowledge. He had minimal knowledge of language but quickly learnt frrom those around him. He found a love in books and understanding everything he could about the surface world. He would need to try and locate the last member of the family to come to the surface to learn from them.
His life on Entrana was simple but he found he enjoyed it greatly. Playing with the other kids was as enjoyable as sitting and reading from the books thee school could offer him. He recieved some bullying from students who didnt understand the markings on his body and were not as affected by the magics meant to protect him from the prying eyes of mortals. Many were unable to even see the delicate lines etching his skin, but some could see through it. He learnt later to simply call them tattoos and people were generally none the wiser meaning he could allow them to be seen more.
Once he turned 14 and more ships were willing to take him on, Yeosang began to travel on merchant ships as he moved from port to port offering his knowledge of the ocean to keep the ships safe as he moved. Eventually news travelled between merchants that a young boy could help a ship navigate safely from passage to passage. Unfortunately, this news also began to reach pirates who wanted the same abilities to befall them in their voyages. The Tainted Heart was the first pirate ship to find Yeosang and bring him onboard offering to take him on the next leg of his journey. Once out to sea they asked for his abilities in payment and after a successful attack on a merchant he was taken to port as he had requested.
The Lost Jewel was the next to pick him up and once again asked for payment in the same way. Yeosang helped again only this time he was not take to a port as requested. They continued to force him to use his abilities beating him until he did help when he attempted to go against their wishes. During his time aboard the Lost Jewel he heard about the Black Pirates and what Kim Hyeonu was trying to do. He resonated with the stories he heard and decided one day that he was simply done being a play toy to the crew he was forced to work with. Using his abilities, that he had never shown, he called a vicious storm to form and sink the vessel before asking the cretures of the sea to ensure no one from the ship would be able to tell what had happened to them.
Once he was sure everything was safe for him to move on he set out to fnd the flag ship of the Black Pirates, which took him an awful lot of swimming. He used the aid of the sea creatures around him and eventually found the ship, swimming up to it and calling up from the water which certainly surprised the crew. He was 'rescued' from the ocean and asked to speak privately with the captain. Once alone with Kim Hyeonu he asked a series of questions focusing on finding out what the man stood for. Happy that it matched a lot of the rumours he had heard he tod the Captain what he was and a portion of what he could do and offered his assistance to him and his crew.
He was never forced to aid them as he had been on other ships, and was free to refuse his aid if they were doing something he did not agree to. His addition to the ship only enhanced the stories of the Black Pirates and their ability to move so freely and quickly without ocean nor weather hindering their movements in any way. Yeosang worked with the Black Pirates, helping them to avoid the navy, other pirates, and protecting those within his influence, as well as being able to quickly pass messages between vessels across great distances.
When Captain Kim Hyeonu knew his time was coming to an end, he asked Yeosang to continue helping his family to achieve his dreams. This included him moving onto The Aurora and working together with the others Captain Kim Hyeonu had gathered that he trusted, to find his son and continue the story of the Black Pirates. Only one member of the crew is currently aware of what he is and any idea of the extent of his power (Park Seonghwa) while the few others he count as close are aware of a few of his abilities only.

Yeosang recieved a basic education in Entrana though he always seemed to be ahead of those his age. He loved to read and always challenged himself to read and learn more no matter the limitations placed on him.

Yeosang has had many small stints on many different vessels where he helped out where he could without giving away anythihng about himself. The only long term employment Yeosang has had is to the Black Pirates

Motivation
After working with Kim Hyeonu for most of the mans life Yeosang's ideals align with his. His motivation lies in the protection of the oceans and the natural world, the freedom of man kind, and the continued sealing of the monsters of the deep. As one of the last members of his family left alive at this point he is solely in control of the beings of the deep and is more than willing to use them against humans who seek to only destroy.
