Holaul

Holaul or “whole owls” is a species of giant owl native to Tatsch Hwell. Although too small for a human mount, they can be mounted by halflings and flown, if bonded with the halfling rider, which is only possible through rigorous training typically involving aeromancy, thus excluding the possibility of gnome or dwarf riders. Holaul have been used for fending off drakes and transportation. Holaul feed on nuts and berries and also small rodents and even larger prey like foxes.
