Rupsted

Rupsted is the only settlement on Rupp Ieg and the only other Orzean settlement apart from its spread-out capital, Kronnested, and the satelite pseudo-settlement of Cape Candle.
Rupsted is a warm town, contrasting to the fogginess of Orze Hwell, which extends down to Rupp Ieg most of the time, but allowing for occasional times of sunlight and partly-cloudy days.  Known for its syrup, maple leaves, and maple wood, Rupsted is primarily supported by exporting its syrups, pitches, tars, and resins, which are used in cooking, waterproofing ships and buildings, and magic.

The town is not waterfront, so it is defensible naturally by the forest

History

The town is majority halfling, who moved to the island to work in the maple industry and extract fine saps, syrups, and rosins. Prior to the syrup industry, the town was mostly Orzean humans who lived on small homesteads supported by vegetable gardens and hunting. Some of these homesteads are found still on Keerie Ieg, which is otherwise unpopulated.
