Open Casket Movement

Undead within the City of Styx have always faced prejudice, bigotry and rejection.

Though they make up 1% of the total population of Styx many still do not believe the Undead in Styx to truly be sapient beings with feelings and a right to personhood.

Many among the Undead hide their nature to gain societal approval, choosing to masquerade the appearance of undeath to dwell among the living but some reject this notion.

Those that reject the idea of hiding and trying to fit into a society that rejects them make up the Open Casket Movement; undead citizens who wear the marks of their condition proudly and refuse to stay silent and hidden.

Mertvinik, the march of the dead, historically a celebration of the honored deceased has taken on a different meaning to the Open Casket Movement: to them it is a celebration of their rights and personhood and though broader society rejects this they still persist.
