Percussion Cap Firearm

Percussion Cap Firearms are firearms that utilize an improvement over the classical Flintlock Firearms used in Styx in the early Republican period.

Using the name-giving percussion cap to reliably ignite the powder charge within the firearm even in dire weather conditions that would not allow flintlock arms to be fired this technology revolutionized the firearms widely used in the Armed Forces of the Stygian Republic.

The original inventor of this technology is disputed with seven individuals employed by the Union of Manufactury Workers claiming to have been the first to develop it independently from all other claimants.

Percussion Cap Firearms made ordinary flintlock arms obsolete and most older weapons were refitted to incorporate the newly developed improvement.

Examples of this type of firearm are Rifle, Pistol, Revolver and Shotgun.
