Ungodolg-Metamorphosis
The Ungodolg-Metamorphosis, also called the Vermin-Transformation, is the gradual process by which those who overuse Vermin-minding become Ungodolgnik.
The Metamorphosis, which was first scientifically documented by the head entomologist of the Academia Ars Magicka et Mundana, Grigori Samsa, usually happens to frequent users of Vermin-minding (as is common within the Armed Forces of the Stygian Republic), and starts with the wielder gradually taking on abnormal personality traits like anxious thought patterns, the need to hide from bright lights or frantic compulsive movements before it graduates to them undergoing a physical transformation.
In a horrifying process the Vermin-minder's lower body expands and shapes itself to be arachnid or insectoid over the course of months with normally fleshy tissue and skin turning into chitin plating and additional legs sprouting.
Many do not survive the process but those that do tend to live for on average 60 years past the on-set of their metamorphosis and are marginalized heavily by society due to their appearance.
