Union of Scholars and Scribes
The Union of Scholars and Scribes (USS) is a minor union in Styx. It is made up of all those who work in the academic fields or as scribes.
Most of those employed at the Academia Ars Magicka et Mundana be it in arcane studies, zoology or any other field of study are members of this union.
Likewise the Union's Grand Office is located inside the facilities of the Academy.
The USS was instrumental in the grand scale literacy campaign attempted in the early days of the Republic of Styx.
Under the reign of the God Empress literacy in Styx was at about 20% of the population, through the efforts of the USS it grew to first 60% and then 80% after the Great Revolution.
