Teleportation Circles
The Thellos Mageocracy maintains a network of Teleportation Circles on most major isles.
These circles are powered by a Quartz Spellstone. The Spellstone stores a spell which is used to power the glyphs on the circle.
The caster assigned to a circle will charge the Spellstone with a spell prior to its activation. He will select a destination from a list of known circles, and activate the glyphs connecting his circle to its destination. He will then beacon the travelers to enter the circle, before stepping out and stating the activation phrase. With a flash, the travelers will disappear, and the Spellstone will be drained.
The runes carved around the Teleportation Circle protect the travelers from accidental teleportation mishaps…. Mostly.
The Cost of using a Teleportation Circle is based off the distance of the teleport, ranging from 50g to 250g max.
System
Unlike the rules regarding Teleportation Circles in the Players Guide, a caster does not need to cast the spell Teleportation Circle every day for a year in order to create a new circle. One weeks worth of casting, along with a circle scribed into bedrock and 1000 gold worth of jewels are enough to create a permanent circle. The Quartz Spellstone is worth 5000 gold and is joined with the circle when it is created, and cannot be used with another circle once bound.Remove these ads. Join the Worldbuilders Guild
