    Allanna the Wandering Goddess
    Religious event

Blessed Allanna, Mother of us all.   The Goddess Allanna found herself wandering. She moved through the Between and she looked into other worlds. There she saw the gods of those worlds with their creations, but knew that she did not belong with them.
From the blackness of the Between, she pulled on the stuff of creation to form Theslia.

    Theslia
    Religious event

Theslia was created from the raw stuff of creation between worlds.
Allanna made the world lush with waters, dense forests, and clear skies. In the process, she accidently created darkness.
    She created Nefrius.

  • The Years of Creation
    Nefrius, The Shadow
    Religious event

When Allanna took from the stuff of creation from the Between, she left behind an emptiness… a nothing where before there was not.

That nothingness took form, inspired by the form of Allanna, and became Nefrius the Shadow.

Nefrius is driven by the desire to return Theslia to the raw stuff of creation it came from, and thus end his own existence. This has evolved into the desire to burn, corrupt, and destroy everything.

Malladon, God of Law and Order
    Religious event

After the accidental creation of Nefrius, Allanna liked that someone like her existed, someone she could talk with, and be around. However, Nefrius’ very nature was repellant to her, and she became very isolated and withdrawn.

As her loneliness become almost overpowering, she focused her power and created Malladon, a deity of law and order, of balance, a diety more like her.

    Allanna's Decison

After Allanna saw the effect that Nefrius brought on the world; trees falling, rock eroding, and animals perishing; she decided she needed to do something to stop it. She decided to battle this by bringing children to Theslia.

She travelled among the diverse worlds of the multiverse, but she did not wish to steal from another god. She instead rescued those who would perish, those whose worlds were abandoned by their creators.

    Dwarves: The First Children
    Life, Relocation

The first race that Allanna chose to rescue were some Stone Dwarves, found deep within their world. The world they inhabited had gone cold, the fires of their forges which were ignited by their creator gods were going out for the first time since their founding.

Many of the stout folk had laid down their burdens, to rest at last. Many more called on their gods, asking why they were forsaken? Their gods did not hear, but Allanna did.

She took those who welcomed her and brought them to Theslia. She sheltered them from Nefrius, and housed them deep within the Iron Mountains, carving them a hall and giving them 4 hammers to dig their home.

Time as we know it begins.

Nefrius was not happy, but was powerless to affect the Dwarves directly.

Nefrius thought long and hard about how to stop the Dwarves. They were quickly carving out a home within the Iron Mountains, mining ore and having children. Things were getting farther from his goal of destruction.

Nefrius hated creation, so to create something new was anathema to him. Against the dwarves, however, he was willing to create something new. Illness. He created the first disease, that infected the dwarves and caused their breathing to heavy.. And later stop.

    Trigga, Goddess of Healing
    Religious event

Many hundreds of dwarves died before Allanna heard their prayers. She was far away but returned swiftly and saw their plight. Her children were dying.

She wished with all her might that they might be well, might heal from the malady that her shadow had given them.

Those thoughts given form created Trigga, the Goddess of Healing. She cast a wave of energy over the dwarves assembled in their great hall, and their symptoms lessened. A few of the most worse off still passed, but most healed. She then taught some of the dwarves how to bind wounds, treat the illnesses, and care for the infirm.

After Trigga healed the Dwarves of the illness that Nefrius had created, he decided to take a different approach and insidiously worked to turn the dwarves to his cause.   It took a long time, and only worked on those of weak minds, but he succeeded in turning some of the Dwarves into Duergar, corrupting them mind, body, and soul. They began to worship him as their god.

    Life, Relocation

Allanna continued travelling through the spectrum of worlds, rescuing races that are on the brink of death. She brought Humans, Elves, and Halflings to Theslia over the course of 100 years.   Not to be outdone, Nefrius, who had observed Allanna travelling to other worlds on her journeys, went among the other worlds himself and brought many to Theslia, including Drow, Chromatic Dragons, and Orcs.   Unexpectedly, Allanna loved the Dragons which Nefrius brought and thanked him profusely. He was understandably confused. She focused her light on a select group of them and changed them into Metallic dragons, to his dismay.

    Founding

The First Kingdoms of Man form. These kingdoms, later called the Eldar by scholars, sprang from early tribes to massive civilizations over the course of several hundred years.   In additional to the Eldar, the Stone Dwarf societies dug deep within the Iron Mountains, but run afoul of Drow and Duergar societies.   The Elves encouraged wild growth forests in the Northern plains to grow thick and strong, with trees growing hundreds of feet tall. They became the Elven Wildenwoods, and are guarded by tree guardians.

    War of the First Kingdoms
    Military action

Nefrius causes friction to form between the Kingdoms of Man and the Dwarves and Elves. Once allies, this friction grew into hatred.   Nefrius focuses his energies and draws forth Rage, God of War. Rage causes the once peaceful allies to draw weapons on one another, weapons once only used on monsters.   The War expands to include almost all of the societies of the First Kingdoms, and the hostility and hatred lead to their eventual decline and demise.

    Disaster / Destruction

As the remnants of the First Kingdoms were crawling out of the ruins of their own war, the Dragons began a war of their own. Both the Chromatic Dragons of Nefrius and the Metallic Dragons of Allanna are being effected by Rage, and a dragon’s rage is mighty indeed.   With such long lives, the slights between dragons from years ago became feuds that lasted for generations of human lives. Eventually Rage overcame their resistance and hillsides and towns were devastated as the War of the Dragons flared.
