January 11th - Take 1
I awoke that morning at my desk, to a rather cryptic message beeping in my email inbox that I was not supposed to have because I was too young but had it anyway. It included the details of the guard schedule that I had been looking for. I blithely included these details in my planning, not taking much consideration into where this strange message could have come from.
January 11th - Take 2
Now that I'd sent off my first real deliberate message to the future, I sat down and catalogued all the things that I apparently had done for myself the first time. It was a cryptic, tangled mess of information. I had no real way to determine which things were me-now operating on behalf of me-then, and which were random chance and possibly even the result of really bad luck. And above all, I wanted to ensure that events still unfolded as they had, with no variation.
In the end, I made a list of bullet points to be sure to hit and hoped that the rest of it would lay out as it was meant to.
