Author's Note: Double January

This is a piece of backstory that has very little to do with the rest of the plot, and indeed only serves to demonstrate the fact that Ruby Gray is acquainted with time travel, albeit accidentally. It's always been Double January in my head. However, it's not enough a part of the main plot to need its own story.
So it occurred to me that using a series of generic articles for Spooktober would be the perfect time to detail it. It'll never have to be particularly polished, just a fun little side quest.
The gist is, when Ruby was eight years old she accidentally invented time travel but could not control it so she had to live the same January twice, making a point of avoiding her one-month-younger self. At the end, that version time travels and Ruby steps in to rejoin her proper time. There are shenanigans along the way as she attempts to avoid herself and also ensure the success of what she was originally trying to do (rob a bunch of shady scientists by means of a teleporter that didn't do what she intended).
