January 18th - Take 1
My second day with the teleporter went about as well as the first, in that I accidentally created something that was still useful while having nothing to do with what I wanted it to do. It turned me invisible.
Well, not invisible, exactly. It was more of a fade effect, where you could still see the person affected by the device but it was easy to ignore them and they were just generally shadowy and difficult to discern. I have no idea why it lasted exactly three hours, seven minutes and eighteen seconds, but I also developed later iterations in a very different direction.
January 18th - Take 2
My day was spent encountering my very first official
SIVIC agent, assigned just to me. While I do remember his name, I chose to say that I don't remember him because he was a generic agent with a generic fade haircut that made him look...generic. But not in a fun unidentifiable way, in a way that simply marked him as the kind of unoriginal that nonetheless claims to be somehow unique.
It was a rather stressful encounter since this was the first time I'd drawn the attention of one of the more serious agencies. And it coincided with a time that I really didn't want anyone to know that I was doing the same month twice because time travel really draws all the wrong attention. The confrontation ended with the agent I dubbed Fade tied up in the back room of a deli.
I still call him Fade to this day. He can't prove I know his name.
