So, I got copper a week ago, but still, I want to keep it on writing and explain a bit about what is there for my first 8 articles:
The Copper Eight
Probably my most loved article from the First Wave, Woederland is about an evil organization lurking and controlling the world from the shadows. Root of many evils, whatever chaos they plan to cause next is still unknown.
The first dabble on the native civilizations of Novalma, Kuarassi City is my second article and the beginning of a careful journey. As a non-native, all the process is taken serious (more than usual) and carefully than usual.
A convention! Can you believe this nerds? (hehe). The third article starts to discuss the growing philosophical discussion of heroism and villainy. But also, a very fun summer convention for all the kids, fans and aspiring superheroes.
And so we begin to touch in very harsh territory: biology. Writing about something that people are kinda of familiar enough is hard, as superficial discussion will feel too shallow, which takes me either write very deep about insects (no), or get to say what differs this insect and some deep lore. Weird insect lore it was.
This ended up being the true wall for this Wave. I mean, is a drug a material or an item? That was my worse writing dillema up until I just decided that it wasn't worth getting stuck (with some help, thanks Tris).
Dangerous eighth article, to properly write about this one I might need an extra extensive research, and in the spirit of not overdoing on the first week I ended up submitting with just the needed 300+ words.
I might have taken longer deciding on the voicemail and recording myself to get a good transcript than writing the article. The doubt of a hero and the dillema between order and goodness something that can shake a person to its core.
When you give someone a voicemail, you should know to who you are calling. Isaphiel is not a hero (or just a hero), they are at their core a good person but does that make him a hero?
Hooks and Future
These eight articles bring a lot to the table. Even as the focus of the world is the city of Carracosta on Emberly, it has been only mentioned in one article and so, slowly, the world near it gets colored and lived in.
Heroes need villains, and Woederland brings many hooks about the villains that live in the world and what could be the final destination. Hooks on who works with Woederland, the secret societies and how they work in this technological world.
Kuarassi City and the Uba People bring a lot about the past of Emberly and how people can interact. Also bringing cultural looks on people with powers that is quite distinct to how the majority sees supers and what it could mean.
HeroCON brings us to Carraosta even if briefly, to look into the heroes of Superia and how individuals interact with their existance. When delving into the panels, previous speakers and the people behind the event we slowly discover more about important figures from the world.
Golden Grasshopper is a... well, it has some ties to the natives, folklore and, says the scientist behind it, Zenith. Bringing more about myths, we also learn more about where the world came from and the root of many opinions and decisions.
A drug that can give you super powers?! Zenith is more than just that, it also shows us how the world saw that change and what they would be willing to do for it: past espionage, regulations and mystery all while creating the basis for a current problem that heroes face everyday.
The Voicemail brings a lot of questions. Who is calling? Why? How many other heroes have this same doubts about heroism? Not only that, the Voicemail is a part of the first adventure I intend to write about Superia, so extra hook.
While the Voicemail is part of a possible game/campaign/adventure, Isaphiel is a protagonist to one of my hero histories. Where is he from? What are trully their powers? What new things is there for them to experience and how long can the novelty last? Not only that, as a centenary being, they have ties to a bunch of other people and events.
Edit: Apparently I don't know how to count, so lets update my 8.
