Krovandir
Krovandir is the most northern human nation in Heimval, as well as the some of the first truly settled human lands throughout the continent. It comprises of the all the lands north of the Yorm River east of the Titan's Back Mountains including the forbidding Larendalyth and the peninsula it sits upon, with its only coastal region is the Laren Gulf making it the largest nation by area on the continent.
Currently ruled by Koeng Ivar Lundsson, Krovandir is an elective monarchy with the Koeng (literal - High King) elected and advised by the Council of Wisdom
History
The Kovast(ethnicity) first migrated into Graenlandir around 425BF after the Orc Blight that engulfed both Forlondir and Graenlandir.Geography
Krovandir is large, rugged and wild for the most part, with around three quarters of its area covered in taiga, and half of that area is the forbidding dense forest known as Larendalyth. This gives short brief warm summers, and long cold winters filled with snowfall. Throughout the year, Krovandir is famed for its thick fogs that linger in the dense forests causing those who stray from the well worn paths to become hopelessly lost. The flatter area known as the Belgen lowlands located between the Yorm and Orkapusten rivers have a milder wetter climate and is thus the main arable farming region for the nation. Due to the both the climate and terrain, though Krovandir is the largest nation with Graenlandir, it also one of the most sparsely populated as well, with most of its population located in the Belgen or near to the tributaries of the Orkapusten. Only the hardiest, or most foolish, of clans have pushed across the "Orka" and settled permanently in the great forest to the east or in the wider open tundra areas to the north.
