Bynsha (bin-SHÄ)

The Bynsha is a secret society on that originated the continent of Ven'Goeth. They are arcane magic users, mostly wizards and sorcerers. The organization focuses on passing along their mystical knowledge to the chosen few, specializing in a blending of the arcane and mechanical. Some have called them an artificer guild, and although that is partially correct, it is an oversimplification. The Bynsha are very secretive and they do not share their affiliation in a public space.
The heads of the Bynsha order do occasionally send their members on special missions or ask them to contribute elements to a larger project.

Structure

The Bynsha are loosely run by a council of elders. Their true identities are unknown and they are referred to by code names reflecting the avatars of the Goddess Byn.
  • Shiksha, representing Learning
  • Pragna, representing Wisdom
  • Kala, representing Creativity

Culture

The Bynsha value secrecy above all else. They fiercly protect the knowledge that is theirs, trusting no one who has not gone through their rites and training to be able to use their magic wisely without catastropic effects.

Mythology & Lore

The Bynsha are not required to all worship the Goddess Byn, but many do. Even if members are not particularly religious in nature, they at minimum show respect Byn. Some members, especially on the continent of Morain, worship the Byn alongside another diety.

Granted Divine Powers

Those who have undergone the Trials of the Byn and succeeded become arcane artificers. During the training, supplicants gain access to these skills and magics through use of the Bynshanic Texts. If a hopeful fails the trial, they will loose access to the abilities and are subjected to a modify memory spell to remove all knowledge of the Order.

You do not find the Bynsha. The Bynsha find you.
