Prompts & Ideas
Prompt 1: Portrait
A portrait of Captain Vertixico
"One of the kartian hunter ships commissioned for the war on pirates was named The KHS Great Vertixico, an honour granted by her new captain, a survivor of The Maned's crew. The KHS Great Vertixico was fitted with a reproduction of The Maned's figurehead, portraying a rampant Red Gnaw, Karte's main symbol, and with an oils portrait of Captain Vertixico in the cabin, commissioned by the survivors of The Maned."Reveal Answer
Portrait of Captain Vertixico by TJ Trewin
Prompt 3: Abandoned
Expanded the City of Goldwaste article
"The catastrophic events of the High Rust, having targeted areas at high altitudes, meant the ultimate destruction for Goldwaste and its inhabitants. Its buildings, structures, people and creatures were taken by the rust, killing most inhabitants including the entire royal family. The death of the queen on the 21st of Celebrating, 3014 E.Alz was the final stroke needed to unleash panic in the city.
The fall of the city of Goldwaste marked the end for the Kingdom of Merthiorn. The city now lays in deep orange-coated ruins, with some of its structures destroyed and others intact like an eerie ghost town."
Prompt 5: Misfortune
Translated Deep Cue Garn
"During the year 2988 E.Alz, the north of Dhalmain and the west coast of Thaur were hit by a massive flood.Saltwater submerged Deep Cue Garn almost entirely, killing most of its inhabitants. The wooden fronts of the houses were destroyed. The remainders of the townspeople emigrated to the recently founded new capital of the Kingdom of Merthiorn, the City of Goldwaste, leaving the town turned into a deserted salty husk inhabited by only a couple dozen people struggling to survive."
Prompt 7: Thorn
A picture of the Thorn Child plant
"For those unaware of the history and effects of the Thorn Child plant, its most distinctive feature will probably be its notorious lack of any thorn to be seen anywhere on its surface. Some people say it is a pretty plant, "despite it looking like an old, withered man", because of its pale lilac color, and how its big, round-shaped leaves sport coloured edges and dots, signaling "Do not mess with me" to the world."
Prompt 8: Howl
An enraged thorns patient
"Serious cases of Thorns move onto the Posession stage. The person will show little reaction to external stimuli accompanied by lost focus and intense violent thoughts leading to an urge to act aggressively against their will.
Unproperly managed, this can escalate into violent attacks that could turn into the patient hurting or killing others.
Recovered patients report to have been in a constant fight against their thoughts and the unstoppable urge to hurt anyone they saw, and being unable to control their actions despite being fully conscious."
Prompt 14: Ruin
Translated the City of Goldwaste
"During the decade of 2920 E.Alz, the royal family of the Kingdom of Merthiorn discussed in length moving the country's capital. The proposal was to create an entirely new city in the middle of the mountains. The reasoning was twofold:
No army would try to reach the city through the mountains, making the entry points much easier to defend, and the city would be in a higher location, which was then considered an important symbol of status and wealth. Who would question the power of those who live in the highest fortress, among the tetsus?"
Prompt 19: Relic
Finished the Sash of the People
"The revolutionaries had received a tip that the Sash of the People was salvaged by palace workers loyal to the republic, and hidden in a sealed vault of the building. The day after the fateful night, revolutionaries got to work on bringing down the wall behind the tapestry and howled in excitement and pride once they found a small chamber full of the treasured items. Wrapped in fabric there was the discoloured but otherwise intact sash."Prompt 24: Curse
Translated Blackout
"Traces of blackout's history can be found up to two centuries ago in reports and stories of people "wasting away" while suffering from unjustified extreme cold. It was sporadic and rare, so it wasn't thoroughly investigated. During 2999 E.Alz cases began expanding at a high rate from Stunveldt and onto the island of Ruh, and decimated both countries for two years until a kid in the first stages of the disease was found to feel better after accidentally ingesting the leaves of a plant from the small white jungle at the south of Stunveldt."Prompt 25: Possess
Translated Thorns
"The year 3002 E.Alz hit the Stunveldti and the Ruhk people hard and tragically with an epidemic of an otherwise rare blackout, a wasting disease usually described as an inner cold that weakens the body to the point of failure.Fortunately, the epidemic was put to a stop when it was discovered that the leaves of a plant known as the thorn child could be turned into a concoction that cured blackout quickly and reliably.
The cure, however, came with an unlucky drawback: A small percentage of patients, seemingly at random, would develop an entirely new condition known as thorns.
Prompt 28: Darkness
Finished the Night of the Unlit Candles
"No one was under the delusion that the civil war had fizzled out, but no one in the military or government was certain of when, where or how was the next hit planned to happen. This made them anxious and aggressive, and harsh surveillance became commonplace. Two days ago, the night of the 20th of Harvesting, year 9, saw torrential rains on most of the inhabited areas of the Karte Island. That's what they had been waiting for."Prompt 29: Hunt
Translated and expanded the Hopist
"Native to the northwest area of the Haan Archipelago, hapists are big armoured birds, close relatives of the smaller hopist. They stand at up to around 1.30 meters tall, with a wingspan that can be on the 4 meters.Similar to those of the hapist, their wings are formed by large feathers closely linked to one another by special barbed structures on the feathers' vanes, resembling big semicircular membranes.
It is not unusual for wandering hapists to hunt and kill livestock and societarian children."
Prompt 30: Tear
A tear on a tapestry reveals something interesting
"One of the destroyed items was a gigantic tapestry of the Father Stag, a mythological Night Dweller said to have sired the first generations of the Regal Stags back on their native island. The tapestry portrayed him turning into his societarian-like shape, ready to unite with a deer woman. The revolutionaries tore out the genitals of the night dweller from the tapestry, and found that the castle wall was different behind it, and definitely newer.
This would have been ignored if it weren't because of the information gathered by Ararak on their years of hiding (...)"
Best of luck! :D
