Skaverat (SKAH - veh - rraht)
The primary place of residence and centre of function for the Emperor of the Enthar Empire whilst he dwells in the capital city, Tvadchiinyurnei. While the Emperor's residence is well-removed from the public areas of the Imperial Palace, Skaverat is open to business during sunlit hours. There is a strict code of conduct that must be followed while underneath the blue ceilings of Skaverat - at least in the public halls. Shifting is punishable by death (where ordinarily one would only legally see imprisonment), nobles must not show any skin below the shoulder, and anything that may be considered 'disturbing the peace' will result in immediate expulsion, at the very least.
Where the Emperor (or more often his appointed clerks) hear complaints, requests, and resolve disputes. In order to gain entrance to Zvurney, one must bring a letter from someone of importance. Nobles will typically find their word will grant access, but rich merchants, important academic figures, or foreign dignitaries, may also find their request answered.
Zvarodnei - Open Hall
A series of corridors made to hold those that wish to tour and experience the glamour of Skaverat, or to hold those while waiting on entrance to Zvurney.
Oyhaczavd - Imperial Hall
The formal throne room where the Emperor conducts grand ceremonies. Access to the Imperial Hall is severely limited and is typically only utilised for receiving the highest ranking of Kings, Queens, or nobles.
Tsedjklech - Great Hall
The centre of parties, celebrations and balls held by, or on behalf, of the Emperor. Often empty, although should anyone find their way to Ztedjklech, it isn't technically disallowed, regardless of caste.
Oyburen - Clerk Hall
The largest of all the sub-sets of Skaverat, this Hall houses all the functioning members of the palace staff from clerks to nobles. These too, are technically open to the public, although they are the most confusing with their winding corridors and increasingly similar architecture.
Architecture
An intimidating, sprawling structure, Skaverat is meant to draw attention. While not overly tall, Skaverat is a blocky, blue-walled fortress perched high on a hill in the centre of Tvadchiinyurnei, making it visible from almost every point in the city. The only city allowed to sport Imperial Blue, the bright walls are a stark contrast to the otherwise reddish tones of architecture throughout Tvadchiinyurnei. Externally, Skaverat is merely a large box, and internally the halls and corridors are designed to confuse and intimidate. Those unfamiliar with what is inside Skaverat's walls can easily become lost, and so keeping close to only the allowed public areas becomes necessary, not just expected.Halls
Zvurney - Witness HallAlterations
Just over a century old, and built when the Enthar Empire was still new, every Emperor has made his mark on the palace. The most recent of which, was the highly protected internal quarters of Emperor It'varkei. Whilst the 'Emperor's Quarters' is accessible to nearly every servant or employee of the palace, deep within those quarters is a lavish, magically-sealed set of rooms with only one internal entrance and exit. That door is guarded by two of the most powerful mages in It'varkei's personal guard, and only a rare few even know of its existence. Upon receiving most people, It'varkei will exit those hidden chambers, re-seal the magic protecting it, and greet visitors in what appears to be his occupied rooms.
