Burthe, the Plague
Since a very young age, Burthe was a member of various bigger-smaller gangs in the city she grew up. Many times she was the leader of these groups. Being a band member was in her blood. If there wasn't one around she could join, she established one. When she joined one, she often became the gang's leader. Sometimes she was even the leader of kids older than her because she was usually more intelligent than the other children around her and learned how to turn her mates against each other at a young age.
Becoming a young adult didn't change her attitude. On the contrary, she craved more power. She joined various mercenary units and household guards. She learned how to use different weapons and became a skilled fighter. However, she still used the tricks that she learned during her childhood to advance. As a young adult, she also learned that, in some cases, she could use her body as a weapon to seduce males to help her agenda. During this period, she met with a female hobgoblin slightly older than her but with the same view of life, and Burthe became her apprentice and close friend. That was also the period when she received her nickname, Plague.
The pair were inseparable for many years. They accepted every task together, and they deceived their employers together. Then came the time to join H.O.A.R.D. They rose through the ranks quickly, either by using weapons or manipulation. But the moment came when only one of them could fill a position, and without a second thought, Burthe betrayed her friend too. Moving up the ranks, she became the commander of H.O.A.R.D. Immediately she changed the rules on how H.O.A.R.D. can elect a new commander to discourage any potential candidate and solidify her rule.
In her latest act, she sent a proclamation to all the corners of Tacillia to hire new members. Of course, in a usual Burthe way, she tries to exploit the naivety of the folks of Tacillia and promises them everything. But the top leadership of H.O.A.R.D. knows that the new hires will be cannon fodder, and the riches they find will fill the chests of the veterans.
I would gladly make her my advisor, but I fear she would betray me too
