Culture and cultural heritage
Among the various Elf subgroups, Moon Elves are well known for their curiosity about the world. This trait has largely been a result of their homeland on the Silverlight Isles, which is home to numerous minor magical anomalies and has one of the greatest views of the night sky, with many Moon Elves being proficient in the studying of magical environments and astrology. This familiarity with the night sky has also allowed the Moon Elves to excel as sailors, especially at night, using the positions of the moon and stars to guide them through unfamiliar waters, effectively becoming the dominant naval power of the Elvish Kingdoms.
Additionally, due to both the dreamlike atmosphere and relative isolation of their home, the Moon Elves are considered to be the most peaceable of the Elves. Thanks to their island homeland sheltering them from many external threats, the Moon Elves were able to dedicate much of their time inward, focusing on subjects such as astronomy, philosophy, and the arts, with the clear night sky and magically infused nature of their homeland being a frequent subject in Moon Elf artwork.
