Though home to many fine mercantile establishments, Bent Coin’s biggest claim to fame is undoubtedly the Eagle-Eye Night Market, where everything, from priceless treasures to local cabbage, is sold. The Market sets up at sundown three nights a week, from Ergo to Sheausa, and unravels through the night into the wee hours. The ensuing atmosphere of cavorting and excited haggling lead most eventually into The Golden Cup, to take a dram of one of the august establishment’s award-winning draughts. For those looking for more of a dive, Awk’s ale-soused ambience does not disappoint.
During the day, Lumy’s Honest Wares and the Bosso Brothers Trade Emporium are open to the public. Both businesses - and consequently, their owners, Seg̀ Lumy and Kyeskhegb & Ozhnong Bosso - are in direct (and often, vociferous) competition, as each store specializes in imports from exotic lands. Knock-offs and second-hand merchandise can be acquired, considerably more quietly, across the way at Savvier Sales.
Goods and coin flowing in and out of the area are kept track of by The Liar’s Guild… otherwise the Trader’s Guild, if not for a far-sighted sign carver, an unfortunate similarity in Draksi between the two words (awjosawng, trader; and ajaosawng, liar), and City Council finding the error droll enough to leave as is.
