Clairvistra, one of two political entities making up the nation of Liij, is a land of paradoxes. While it shares an intertwined cultural history with Dalexcai, its rival, it also dreams of a future where it is the sole governing power over the whole of Liij. Although each entity remains legally tethered to the other, they coalesce into the Taoxh-Raoŋauɾ ethnic identity, the Taoxh residing in Clairvistra, and the Raoŋauɾ in Dalexcai. This identity tapestry is a constant reminder of their shared past, and despite political division, many citizens travel freely between the two entities, maintaining familial and social bonds.   Power in Clairvistra resides within the iron grip of autocrats and warlords, often indistinguishable from thugs, collectively known as the Raesh. The capital, Rhodlut, mirrors the Raesh's rule in its stark contrasts: stunning architectural feats stand amidst a city lacking basic infrastructural essentials, on account of corruption. This is a realm where the illusion of public influence is carefully crafted through propaganda, ensuring the exploited populace dreams of their piece of the pie while toiling ever harder.   The city of Boundu, sandwiched between Rhodlut and Dalexcai, stands as an oasis of relative tolerance, owing to its mixed population. This is in stark contrast to cities like Scic and Sojou, which lie further under the Raesh's control, with Sojou's proximity to the Ksheing of Loy adding an extra layer of political complexity.   To the south of Clairvistra lies the formidable barrier of the Daundesti Woods, a sprawling, verdant shield against the Uvan Empire. The Raesh, ever the master manipulators, twist the lack of Uvan influence as a testament to their preservation of culture. Yet, beneath the bravado lies a palpable fear. Words against the Uvan Empire are seldom spoken aloud, a silent pact of self-preservation reducing any criticism to mere insinuation.
