The Origin Gods
General -
The Origin Gods are a group of gods created by the Primordial God at the beginning of the world to take care of the world and its planes. These gods, unlike many future ones, are more like concepts and natural forces than they are individuals. Around -1000 BO these Gods rebelled against the Primordial God and the Mud People because they believed that Dainsleif's ascension was a betrayal against their authority. This war became a world altering conflict ending in a draw between the Mud People and the Origin Gods. Though ultimately the war will be seen as a loss for the Origin Gods as for the next 9000+ years they have gradually lost great influence on mortals and the planes. The Origin Gods originally consisted of twentysix created deities and the submitted Primordial Dragon: Tho. After the eons of their existence the number of Origin Gods has reduced to only seventeen. However this number is disputed as the composition of the Origin Gods make it difficult to discern one discret number for their count.Naming -
Origin Gods are each known by two names, their True Names given to them by the Primordial God and their Traditional Titles. The Traditional Titles were given to each of the Origin Gods by the less intelligent Mud People of early Tailon. They named the deities based on what those people saw them do, giving them titles that are traditionally used to refer to them like: “The Lumbering Speaker”. The Traditional Names are made with “The” as the first word followed by what is usually an adjective and ending in a noun. These names were kept and even expanded upon after the Origin War. The “modern” races of humanoids continued to use the Traditional Names of each of the Origin Gods. They even created Traditional Names for the three new Dragon Origin Gods that were created out of Tho’s pieces: Tiamat, Bahamut, and Svidor. And called them: “The Chrome Glutton”, “The Platinum Justice”, and “The Diamond Neglector” respectively.History -
From their creation the Origin Gods were led by Primordial God. They needed to follow him because he had the title: “King of the Gods” Authority. With his Authority, he could control the monstrous gods he created. The Origin Gods believed that one day the Primordial God would pass on the world to them. But when Dainsleif Ascended and became the first mortal god, they realized that the King of the Gods’ really intended on having mortal gods succeed him. So, in approximately -1000 BO they began to rebel against his wishes and started the conflict known as the Origin War. After the war, the Origin Gods failed to destroy the mortals that were destined to overthrow their Authority. They ended up “killing” the Primordial God, but were unable to achieve his legacy. The King of the Gods was able to pass on his title Authority and his arm to Dainsleif. This left the Origin Gods in shambles, they had no clear goal or leader and were technically forced to bend their will to Dainsleif’s title Authority as “King of the Gods”. Many of the Origin Gods ran to the corners and edges of Taillon’s planes to escape being subjugated by Dainsleif’s Authority and new Heavenly Order. The Origin Gods would try to regain order amongst themselves the three strongest most powerful gods would try to unify their kin. These gods being Sowhul “The Shaded Light”, ______ “The Harbinger of the Forgotten”, and Rotesthia - “The Crumbled Whisper”. These three deities were originally the King’s Seats of the Primordial God. However, the three King’s Seat’s were not able to unify enough of their kin to spark another revolution against the Heavenly Order. The other Origin gods would begin to be either blinded by their hatred of mortals and the new order and end up either dying or chased off beyond the far reaches of the mortal world. Sowhul, ______, and Rotesthia would eventually give up their King’s Seats after Tiamat was defeated in the mortal world. Officially giving up the Origin God’s claim on Tailon and its Heavenly Order.
