Government
Ragewind's mayor, Jeffrey Redstream while normally making decisions for the town, has for quite some time been superseded by one of the members of The Order of Steel who is researching the wound and the sudden spike in the citizens going missing.
Defences
Ragewind has a surplus of soldiers. Even as far back as the confederacy a large contingent has been left to stand guard and watch over the bottomless canyon, for fear of what might one day come crawling out of it.
Industry & Trade
Most of the inhabitants in Ragewind own, or work on, farms and ranches outside the city. The wide plains and fertile soil make excellent ground for raising cattle and growing crops.
Infrastructure
The Tabaxi of Ragewind have been harvesting bird eggs, plants and other edible things from Aludel's wound since it opened over a thousand years ago. In an attempt to make use of these resources as well, humans created a series of pulley systems and chairs that can move in all directions across the walls of the crevasse. (Though many Tabaxi, and some foolhardy humans, stick to the traditional method of climbing.)
Guilds and Factions
Ragewind's social dynamics are split into three parts: Soldiers, Owners, and Workers. These groups tend not to mix outside of official business.
The workers, when not out in the fields tending crops or herding cattle, live on the outer portion of the town. Days are long, and nights are loud in the many Taverns throughout Ragewind.
Farm owners also spend their days outside the city, overseeing their workers. A few of the more wealthy owners hire overseers to do this job while they stay home. Farm owners live nearer the center of the town.
Soldiers are garrisoned in a small fort on the edge of the canyon. They keep a small rotation on watch but it is generally considered a boring post and many soldiers can often be found in the taverns even during the day.
Architecture
Ragewind's architecture is distinctly human. Thin wooden buildings with multiple floors bunched together around the towns edge while the more luxurious houses sit in the center.
Geography
While Ragewind itself sits on high ground beside Aludel's Wound, most of the land around the town is flat plains of tall grass mostly taken over by farmland.
Natural Resources
The soil in the plains around Ragewind is unusually fertile. Many scholars believe this is remnant magic left over from when the Elathian Dynasty first drove out the elves.
