The Order of Steel
Composition
Manpower
There are five active Guardians of the Order of Steel and twenty Iron Acolytes.
Equipment
Guardians of the Order of Steel carry with them all the components or focuses they need for their magic.
Weaponry
Most of the Order of Steel do not wield weapons in combat, but they all at least have a dagger or staff with them, if not something more.
Structure
The five active members of the Order of Steel each train four acolytes at a time.
Tactics
The Order of Steel is very free form in their tactics, using whatever applies to the situation they are in.
Training
Before someone can become one of the order they have to train under one of the active members. Acolytes can spend years learning magic, tactics, and an understanding of military intelligence.
Logistics
Logistical Support
Similarly to the Sentinels, the Order of Steel is autonomous and find their own way to complete their missions.
Auxilia
The Order of Steel, while technically above the rest of the Legion, are expected to deal with issues on their own and do not have the authority to give orders to other troops of soldiers. Though they are expected to inform the Sentinels of any situation that requires a non magical touch.
Recruitment
Acolytes are handpicked by members of the Order from wherever they deem fit.
History
Two Wizards came to Cretion with the idea for the Order. They had realized that the lack of magical forces within the Legion was a huge oversight, seeing how Ogralon would surely have mages and shamans within their ranks. Agreeing, Cretion put the two wizards in charge of forming a small group of magical special forces to aid the Legion. The Order was also put in charge of two platoons of magic users, though they have rarely had to lead them in battle, spare the few times a member of the order visited the Autumnfield Garrison to assist in a particularly heavy skirmish.
