The Ogralon Salt Flats

Geography

Ogralon is ringed by mountains on all sides except for on the east. This space on the border of Aludel is locally called the Autumn Field. Within the ring of mountains a vast salt flat, cracked and dry, stretches in all directions.

Fauna & Flora

No trees or brush of any kind grow in Ogralon. The sparse ground is too dry to support any floral life whatsoever.
The animals that inhabit Ogralon have adapted to live in the insanely harsh environment. Many like the Dursaur, snake-like creatures reaching lengths of up to three meters, move incredibly slowly and feed on the salt just below the dirt. Others like the Vlunoth, quadrupedal pack hunters with thickly scaled skin, stay buried during the day to avoid the sun and come out at night to hunt whatever they can find. A few other species exist but most notorious are the Purple Worms who have thrived in this land growing to massive proportions.

Natural Resources

The only thing the denizens of Ogralon are able to gather from this place are mineral deposits deep below the ground. Doloax is the most sought after of these minerals. A spoonful, mixed in with food or drink can keep an Orc warrior on their feet for days without nourishment. Many believe that constant use or exceptionally large doses can provide extended life, and incredible powers but those who try become addicted to the mineral and refuse other food or drink, quickly starving themselves.
