Adaline had been a witch for most of her adult life, and had decided that she wanted to teach later. She was Fernus's Middle School Magics Ethic teacher. She teacher took none of Fernus's shit, she made him focus and for the first time he had fun in a class. She showed him how he could be, trying hard, feeling motivated, actually learning something, and also gave him the first inklings of what would become his dream.
