Gameplay Traits
- Ability Score Increase.
- Creature Type. You are a Humanoid. You are also considered a Fae for any prerequisite or effect that requires you to be a Fae.
- Size. You are Tiny. 1 foot to 1 foot 3 inches.
- Speed. Your walking speed is 20 feet.
- Languages. You can speak, read, and write Regional (a catch-all term for the region's main language, also known as Common) and one other language of your choice.
- Age.
- Alignment.
- Fairy Flight. You have a flying speed equal to your walking speed, but you must land at the end of your turn or you fall. You can't use this flying speed if you're wearing heavy armor. Additionally, when falling you can use your reaction to spread your wings, slowing your descent. When you do so, you fall gently at a speed of 60 feet per round, and you take no fall damage when you land. Starting at 3rd level, you can ignore the limits placed on your flight speed, allowing you to hover and maintain flight in between rounds a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus. You recharge all expended uses when you finish a long rest. Starting at 5th level, your flying speed increases by 5 feet.
- Midsummer Origins. Choose one trait listed below to express your Fae ancestry.
- Of Dreams and Madness. You have advantage on saving throws you make to avoid or end the charmed or frightened condition on yourself.
- Hidden Hollows. You have darkvision, allowing you to see in dim light within 120 feet of you as if it were bright light, and in darkness as if it were dim light. You discern colors in that darkness only as shades of gray.
- Fury of the Fae. When you damage a creature with an attack or a spell and the creature's size is larger than yours, you can cause the attack or spell to deal extra damage to the creature. The extra damage equals your proficiency bonus and deals Psychic damage. You can use this trait a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, regaining all expended uses when you finish a long rest, and you can use it no more than once per turn.
- Weaver of Nightmares. You know the Minor Illusion cantrip, and can cast it without requiring a material component. Starting at 3rd level, you can cast the Faerie Fire water spell with this trait. Starting at 5th level, you can also cast the Crown of Madness spell with this trait. Once you cast Faerie Fire or Crown of Madness with this trait, you can't cast that spell with it again until you finish a long rest. You can also cast either of those spells using any spell slots you have of the appropriate level. Intelligence, Wisdom, or Charisma is your spellcasting ability for these spells when you cast them with this trait (choose when you select this template).
- Diminishing Returns. You have disadvantage on Strength checks and saving throws. Additionally, any melee weapons you wield have a reduced effect on larger creatures due to their decreased size, dealing 1d4 less damage.
