Lieutenant Rydan Orvan

Raised in Bloodstone Village (now Bloodstone City), Rydan was there when Dragonsbane and his companions first entered the village and changed the fate of the Bloodstone Lands forever. While he lost a lot of friends in the subsequent wars and battles, he knows that it was for the betterment of the Kingdom. He was only a guard recruit back then, but has worked his way up the chain of command since. He believes that each person in the community must do their part to make the place better.
Transferred to Virdin, Rydan found his beliefs challenged. The mine managers scheme against one another, caring nothing for the community as a whole, and Mayor Ferrin schemes against the lot of them. It seems like only the garrison is trying to make Virdin a better place. He's seen way too many fair-weather friends here to trust anyone easily. Rydan is becoming known in Virdin for his bluntness, often saying what others are thinking and keeping to themselves. He is seriously thinking of moving his family back to Bloodstone City and just visiting them on his days off.
