Kolamarian
Kolomarians are thanagarians that are from the Greenland region, if not from the secret city of Kolamoran itself.
Distinctly "classical" thanagarians, they are also have the most stringent rules pertaining to keeping their existance isolated from the world.
Though in modern times, younger Kolomarians are allowed out into the greater world and its varied societies as a means to help them both gain knowledge, enrichment, and learn why Kolamoran must remain hidden - especially from humans.
Technological Level
Even though they are in general isolationists, the Kolomarians worked to retain their technical knowledge of their ancestors. However, they lacked the means to fabricate the advanced alloys necessary to replace broken parts. Eventually, such devices were lost to the wear and tear of time.
Today, Kolomarians are accustom to a technology level not unlike many human cultures. Currently, their technology is the equivalent of what might be found in many location on Earth such as Japan, North America or Europe.
Naming Traditions
Family names
Most Thanagarians names are not that dissimilar from human ones. The biggest difference is in their family names. Often they use a prefix to their family name, to denote what city or district they are from, such as "Braxton Va'Snow". Some examples are:
- Va' : northern district in north-eastern most city in Greenland, Kolamoran
- El' : district in western city.
- Soo' : district in southern city.

Historical figures
There are stories told of one hero of Thanagar, one Captain Fel Kur'Talak, who was a thorn in the side of the Kryptonian forces time and again. The legends relate that Captain Kur'Talak was an able commander and strategist. Using his sharp mind, the stories tell of the captain's various escapades against the megalomaniacal kryptonian general, Tal-Zod.
Over time, stories of Captain (or 'Archon' to the original Thanagarians) Kur'Talak and the legends of the Star League have been retold and embellished over generations. Some, such as the Ivory Talons have a fanatical obsession with the stories. This resulted in their own criminal mindset!
But to many Kolomarians, Captain Fel is a hero of the highest order. A museum in Kolomaran houses relics from the original immigrants from Thanagar. Along with these are holographic recordings and images of Captain Fel in his prime during the struggle against the Kryptonian Empire. The museum even has a few pieces of his equipment! Most Kolomarians believe Captain Fel either gave his life so that the immigrants might survive, while others believe he defeated Tal-Zod then lived out his life to a ripe old age.
TOP SECRET!
Yet! No Kalamarian suspects that Captain Fel survived in a battered cryochamber aboard the Enduupar! Or that their legendary hero is alive and well exploring the North American cities such as New York and Metropolis!
