Arga's Trials
Arga was a big, angry hunter who could hardly write himself. He did, however, know how to hunt all sorts of creatures, which earned him both technical immortality and literal mortality.
During his days, however, he decided to dictate all the great things he did, creating not only the paragon that every hunter ought to be, but also helping multiple hunting clans purge their ranks when things got too crowded.
Purpose
Arga created the document (by paying someone else to write it) in order to never be forgotten. What he did not have in mind, however, was the hundreds of hunters who would follow him and try to do exactly as he did. Now, it serves as a list of challenges for hunters who believe themselves to have mastered all there is to master.
Document Structure
Clauses
If you can get past the many, many letters of self-praise, you will find in each chapter a challenge Arga himself had to overcome (although he is oddly unspecific on how he did it; he mainly describes the wounds he got and, unfortunately, where those wounds are located).
Publication Status
While not popular among non-hunters, Arga's words have spread to any library in the empire that calls itself so.
Historical Details
History
Following Arga's death, his words sparked a mild decline in population as many hunters felt like they deserved to carry his legacy. Other than that, the book has not really done much.
Legacy
A few, not too many, hunters have managed to complete Arga's Trials and receive his blessing in his burial site. Arga got his wish, he shall never be forgotten, but at the same time, he has been surpassed by a few people. These days, there are still people seeking to complete his challenge.
