Calof Miat was a Human man and the most recent Governor of the City of Kalaman.

Description

Calof Miat was an older human man with sharp, handsome features. He was known for his Irda facial jewelry he wore that accented his cheekbones and brow, and often wore his hair back in a ponytail to display it. He was always seen in Castle Kalaman, often going over future endeavors of the city with his fellow Guild Masters.

Personality

Calof was approchable and polite to everyone who sought him out for business in the city. Despite having the massive burden of city leadership, Calof never waivered in times of hardship and often looked optimistically on the future of Kalaman. Though a trusting man, Calof always saw to the details of a story and made sure he had as much information as possible before making decisions on behalf of the city as a whole.

Abilities

Though Calof's combat experience and techniques were never displayed, he had a tangible skill in making people feel welcome and comfortable, often allowing him to extract details and information that would have otherwise gone unannounced. His ability to steer a conversation also benefitted him as Governor, as he could often push aside violent disagreements into civil discussions seemingly with ease.

It is unclear whether Calof had true friends, though he spent most of his time with the guild masters of Kalaman by necessity. Aside from his work as Governor, Calof was rarely seen outside of the castle due to his busy schedule and many obligations.

Enemies

As all political offices go, Calof had political rivals who sought his downfall. Namely, Lord Brock, who claimed Calof was too shortsighted and soft in decisionmaking.

History

Calof Miat was the Governor of Kalaman when the Voglerites arrived, and granted them sanctuary outside of the city while the government could find a place for them in the city proper. His agreeable nature led to a work relationship being developed between the Voglerites and Kalaman, ultimately resulting in Calof instating the Greenshield Regiment under Marshal Nestra Vendri for future operations against the Red Dragon Army threat in the area.
Unfortunately, a few months after the creation of the Greenshield Regiment, Governor Calof Miat and other guild masters were murdered by Sir Caradoc under the orders of Lord Soth while the rest of the Kalaman army was at Steel Springs. Since his passing, the rule of the city transitioned to a new group of elected representatives.
