Description

Mostly ruined now, the Chapel of Evil is an old place of worship and stronghold for the followers of Iuz in the Caves of Chaos.

Inhabitants

Undead, such as ravenous ghouls, and creatures twisted by demonic influence still patrol the ruined hallways, guarding the chapel long after their masters have perished.

Notable Inhabitants

• Vetala, a corpse-snatching demon empowered by a corrupted celestial heart.

Locations

Although much of the structure is in ruins, the central place of worship still remains intact. Decorated with silk tapestries, row after row of glossy pews, a massive bell of pure gold, and several painted glass windows depicting a handsome but haunting figure with not quite angelic wings, the room is grandiose... save for the hundreds of corpses that litter the floors.

History

When the Poisoned Cup seized control of the keep, Kapital escaped to the Caves of Chaos and sought the Chapel of Evil as a place of potential wealth and knowledge with which they could start to rebuild their organization.
The ruined temple was more dangerous than they thought, and Oramli and Verk lost their lives in the push towards the central room. There, they found copious riches and dead bodies stacked together in a deathly cold room.
Attacked by the vetala, the group fought reanimated corpses as the demon evaded attacks by shifting between bodies. Finally, the group found the source of its chilling magic: a still-beating celestial heart, corrupted by demonic influence. By cleaving the heart in two with blade and infernal seal, the vetala was defeated, and the group free to plunder the chapel's treasures.
