General Marcus Mantarthas

General Marcus Mantarthas was a proud leader and the last General of The Boros Legion, before the position was removed and replaced with the title of Skyjek Commander.

Description

General Mantarthas was an aging human Boros Legionnaire of great renown and respect within his guild. Having studied warfare and tactics on Parhelion II with the Firemane Angels, General Marcus's command of a battlefield was something to be revered. He carried himself to a higher standard than the standard he set for his troops. He was often seen in a polished suit of Boros Legionnaire armor, with a feather medallion given to him by the Firemane Angels clapsing his General's cloak to his shoulder.

Personality

General Mantarthas spoke softly and truthfully to his troops. None ever remembered him complaining about any event, or task. No task was below the General, as he would often take the place of his line soldiers in menial tasks, which raised morale. A professional through and through, General Mantarthas kept his private life separate from his work, unless connecting the two would allow him to lead his soldiers more effectively. He often mentioned to soldiers struggling with marital problems that he himself had gone through something similar, indicating a home life issue that was not openly discussed during his lifetime.

Abilities

General Mantarthas was a master tactician and combatant, sporting the current fastest time on the Skynight Griffon Combat Course, beating out Tajic's score by less than 2 seconds. In his prime, Mantarthas was a master swordsman and honed nearly every taught combat technique by the Boros Legion. He was known for his ability to change the pace of a battle, slowing down and speeding up his strikes to keep his opponents uncomfortable.

Relationships

General Mantarthas was married young in life and sustained that marriage until the end of his life on The Day of Shadows. He also held close relationships with Tajic, a lifelong friend and colleague, as well as Aurelia, upon being positioned as General of the Legion.

History

Little is known of the origins of General Mantarthas, but his memory is well preserved through Tajic, the Blade of the Legion, as well as through Sunhome Academy, where new hopeful Boros Legionnaires learn of his exploits during his command time.
