Description

Pachovan is the secret language of the pachova. Spoken with precise twitches of one's whiskers and snout, it is subtle and only recognizable to a watchful few. Because it does not involve the mouth, one can speak this language while speaking another.

Speakers

If any non-pachova speakers of this language exist, they are indeed rare and hide their talents well. First, the tight-knight pachova communicate in this way to protect one another, so it is unlikely, or at least uncommon, that they would readily share this secret with someone of another race. Second, because it involves moving one's whiskers and snout, it is difficult for anyone with a different facial structure than that of a pachova to speak this language.
Notably, some vulpin have been known to understand and speak this language; doubtless this is part of the reason for their historical role as overseers for pachovan slaves.

History

For all the greatness achieved in Ansalon, there is a sordid streak through its history involving the frequent enslavement of pachova. Branded as plague-bearers, the pachova only banded closer together and developed this secret language to communicate beneath their masters' notice.
