Sir Larys

Sir Larys was a Knight of the Rose, the most senior Knights of Solamnia. Although it is unknown why he left the World Below, for the rest of his life, he still observed the Oath and the Measure and was never seen without his sword and rose-marked armor.
Later in life, he settled in the city of Greyhawk and founded the knights of the Platinum Fist. After his order's campaign against Asterax and his corruption, he unwillingly threatened all who lived in the Brackwater Swamp.
Ultimately, Order of the Stone Gauntlet defeated his new form and allowed the knight's spirit to move on.

Description

With skin like burnished bronze, Larys seemed almost ageless, save for the very few wrinkles around his eyes, marking his seniority and authority. The sea elf, or Dargonesti, bore few visible scars and spoke longingly of feeling the sea-winds through his hair again.
After he was transformed, no traces of Larys's ancient grace remained. He became a hulking mass of black ooze, which spilled out of and stained his once pristine breastplate.

Personality

Although inwardly devastated by the consequences of his actions, he was quiet and reserved. Larys mourned his order, but he welcomed his death because "it was deserved." His Honor was his life, and he felt that he had betrayed it.

Powers

Larys was an extremely powerful fighter, fast and deadly with his sword and shield. He was also an excellent battlefield commander and bolstered the strength of his soldiers.
His new form preferred brute strength and was exceptionally resilient. His ooze-like body shifted and adapted to blade and spell, always granting him protection against the three types of damage that had afflicted him most recently.

History

Earlier in his life, Larys belonged to the Knights of the Rose in Ansalon. It is unknown how he ended up in the World Above, but, after settling in Greyhawk, he founded the knights of the Platinum Fist.
Under his leadership, the Platinum Fist marched into the Brackwater Swamp to deal with the Midnight Terror, a dragon who terrorized the region. Unaware of her age and old magics, their order was forced into an extended campaign against Asterax.
A strange alchemist, Gabbie Collows, promised him potions that could ward his knights and him against the dragon's magic. Infused with a mote of the divine, Larys's toughness grew, but he did not know how his body would be permanently changed.
Eventually, Larys was able to drive away Asterax, but his new form remained and corrupted the waters, changed the swamp's wildlife, and endangered grippoli and crabs. He waged war on the Court of the King Crab; the surviving knights' skin turned to sludge, while the fallen were raised as undead, and they defended their position within the Bonefields.
When Kapital was asked for aid from the King Crab's court, they investigated the swamps, learning of corruption spreading from the old necromancer's tower. They brought many magic items, weapons and spells, the same way the Platinum Fist had done to hunt Asterax.
When the group felled the ooze knight and his undead minions, Larys's torment was not over. With a psychic screech, his body swirled into a sludgy facsimile of the Midnight Terror. Inflicting dragopathy on them, it tore them apart, killing Vadim Reznov, before the creature was layed low by a long-range crossbow bolt from Penny.
The guild's blacksmith Mizzryn Ironheart crafted a single magic item from the dragon's body: a flail allowing the user to temporarily become undead for attacks empowered with necromantic energy.
